Backend Developer

As a backend developer you will play an instrumental role in building our suit of products, from planning to deployment. As part of a small autonomous product team you will have a say in anything from system infrastructure, tech stack decisions to feature planning and CI/CD pipelines. ​

Most of the time you will be writing code that is beautiful and just running great – thanks to test coverage, pair programming, code reviews, a dedicated QA engineer and automatic code quality analysis.

Tech stack

Today our main tech stack is a GraphQL API powered by Ruby on Rails running as Docker containers in a Kubernetes cluster.

But we also run an increasing part of Elixir in production, passing messages through RabbitMQ. And we're no strangers to trying out new technologies we find interesting.

About you

You have ...

• At least 4 years experience of Ruby on Rails
• Worked with CI pipelines before
• Some Elixir experience, or are curious about the language

About House of Education

Our office is located centrally in Stockholm, Södermalm. Specifically between Slussen and Mariatorget. You will enjoy a spectacular view looking out at Riddarfjärden, Gamla stan and City hall. ​ House of Education is a truly international workspace where we celebrate our different backgrounds, so Swedish language knowledge is not a requirement for the position.
